Mitch Hyde

Journalist with muddy boots

Our antipodean representative Mitch came to us with a CV that could have been written expressly for our clients. A degree in journalism followed by two years’ experience on local papers honed Mitch’s copywriting skills while a prolonged spell working “on the tools” gives Mitch a practical understanding of how products and contractors work.

Mitch manages the PR campaigns for many of our B2B construction sector clients, demonstrating every day how an understanding of site practice really helps inform campaigns aimed at contractors and specifiers.

Having made the switch from journalism to PR Mitch has really embraced the PR discipline with a success that was recognised in his shortlisting in the 2015 Construction Marketing Awards Best Newcomer category.

When not at work Mitch is heavily into sport (of course), meaning that, since his arrival, office conversations based on football have increased 100 fold. Being of good New Zealand stock he has reversed an office trend toward vegetarianism, and demonstrates an enthusiastic – some might say outspoken – scepticism towards diet fads.
